I am a teacher who is very passionate about English and even more passionate about my students achieving their best in English and enjoying it! To do this I endeavour to make my lessons interactive, well-structured and engaging. I have many resources to engage active learning, including well designed and structured PowerPoints to support you in analytical writing and in poetry (which is a particular love of mine, and I intertwine history and context within these lessons to give you a good understanding of why poets wrote the poem and the message they were trying to convey!) I incorporate and guide you to other resources such as Seneca to support your learning, and I am a firm believer of asking you many questions to check your understanding and make you do the hard thinking.
I have taught students within a Grammar Secondary school setting and am very experienced within Sen Teaching, as well as teaching in Secondary non- selective schools. I have a wide range of experience to fit my tutoring to your specific needs. I like my students to talk to me, to never be afraid to ask, and never be afraid to make mistakes, that is how we learn, I make mistakes every day and am continually learning.
I am a teacher with QTS in English and have experience in teaching KS3 students and the AQA syllabus at KS4 including Shakespeare (which i do bring to life!), A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, Conflict Poetry, Animal Farm and Jekyll and Hyde.
