I’ve been working as a professional tutor in piano and music theory since 2016 and can honestly say I can’t think of anything else that would bring me such joy every day. I love working with students of all ages and abilities and get so much satisfaction from seeing how they grow and develop in their skills and performance. I ensure to nurture students’ interest in piano and musical development. My unique approach to teaching encourages students to excel in their strengths ranging from sight reading, improvising, or even composing music! Most importantly, I encourage students to have fun and I love to create my own games and innovative resources for students to learn from.

With a Master in Music & Media Technology, I acquired comprehensive knowledge and skills including piano performance, music theory, teaching, composing, music analysis, music therapy, psychology, and music technology. The breadth of diverse skills I have learned has enabled me to teach in an engaging and innovative way that keeps students engaged and is sensitive to different learning styles and additional needs. Having taught for over eight years, I have also learned invaluable lessons through experience in teaching students with learning disabilities. As a result, I have learned to adapt suitable teaching methods to best accommodate for students’ needs.

Furthermore, aside from tutoring, I serve as a youth leader in our local church. My experience has provided me with hands-on exposure to diverse administrative, management, and leadership tasks. I collaborate closely other youth leaders attending weekly planning meetings, managing correspondence, co-coordinating & plan events, facilitating training workshops & mentoring the youth, and also encouraging, motivating and training youth and teens to develop in their strengths. Moreover, I have played a pivotal role in organizing major church youth outings, conference stays, community service events, and fundraising. As a result, I have developed key skills in mentorship, public speaking, training, administrative skills, and leadership skills.
