I love building students’ confidence and fluency through my informal teaching style. I always like to choose interesting and relevant topics to each individual student, adjusting my lessons to suit the student’s pace, interests and learning needs. I encourage my students in a supportive environment, where they always know it is okay to make mistakes (that’s how we learn, after all)! I focus my conversational classes on everyday English to encourage students to sound more natural, as well as on their intonation and pronunciation. I always make my lessons enjoyable and fun to keep the motivation high!

I often use YouTube videos and internet articles for lessons and even though my focus is for my students to talk as much as possible, I may introduce grammar worksheets too when a grammar point needs attention. I also encourage my students to suggest their own materials and I have taught lessons on their favourite films, documentaries, books, comedians and music in the past. I appreciate that most people are very busy, but I do encourage my students to try to do some homework and write essays; going through homework in lessons can be really beneficial. I use real questions from past exams for my IELTS and Cambridge students to practice and role play is invaluable for exams, job interviews and business situations.

With over a decade of experience working in the corporate world, my background in psychology and my varied teaching experience throughout the years, I feel I can successfully improve everyone’s English level and have a lot of fun whilst doing so!
