Hello!
My name is Sarah, and I am excited to help you learn science! I have a degree in Biochemistry and have been in diabetes research since starting my Masters and throughout my PhD and postdoc positions. I specialise in diabetes and islet biology (insulin and glucagon action) and have an in-depth understanding of cell biology, physiology and metabolism (but am happy to help you in any area of biology!). At school I took my A levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, so am happy to teach anything from GCSE science or A level biology, to undergraduate biochemistry. Prices of the lesson will depend on what level you are at (e.g. GCSE vs Undergraduate).
I have experience in teaching throughout my PhD and postdoc positions, both one-on-one and large class lectures so am equipped to tackle whatever issues you have.
As everyone learns differently, in our first lesson we would discuss what areas you are struggling with, what areas you enjoy and how you think you learn best. From this, I will structure our sessions so you can get the most out of them and be able to focus on the areas that you have most difficulty with.
If you are a GCSE or A level student who would like a little extra help, please let me know which exam board you are learning under as this will help to structure the sessions and allow me to know what topics to cover.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions for me, about what areas I can help you with or what format the lessons would be etc. and I would be happy to discuss with you!
Look forward to hearing from you!
