Over my six years of teaching, I have gained a strong understanding of the skills and knowledge needed for students to succeed. Since training as a teacher, I have undertaken additional opportunities to better my practice, with a strong focus on SEN which made me comfortable with adapting tasks within my lessons when needed. Scaffolding and adaptive teaching is something I use in all my lessons and I have worked closely with my team to share good practise in quality first teaching techniques. In Art I created booklets that the Additionally Resourced Provision and SEN department have praised for allowing all students to access the learning yet still being the correct level of challenge. This is something I continue to adapt and improve to keep current and to meet the departments development plan. I have recently delivered a CPD session to all teaching staff at my current school to promote the effectiveness of adaptive teaching for all students.
