For instance, many History or Modern Studies pupils may struggle with the skills/source questions but be very strong with their knowledge, so focusing on skills/source techniques would be a priority.
I have experience in preparing students from S3-S6 for their History, Modern Studies, English, Spanish and German SQA exams. Normally, I structure my sessions around at least two different areas/ question types. I always adapt my sessions to what the student wants to focus on or on what they most need to practise. Adaptability is key, since I’m aware many schools focus on different aspects within courses.
I am also able to tutor students taking German GCSE and A level, since the German skills required are naturally the same and I would adapt the content and focus of the sessions to the specific exam board.
The sessions would be online through zoom or Microsoft teams, since they allow for screen sharing of resources and question papers.
I am happy to provide a reference from a previous tutoring firm I worked for and I still hold a valid PVG, as well as an ICPC.
