The format for my lessons will follow the basics of accounting. It will include understanding Debits and Credits, bank reconciliations, cash reconciliations, journals and forming a trial balance.
Once the basics have been understood we would then move onto the slightly trickier transactions relating to the Balance Sheet, such as stock adjustments, depreciation, debtors and creditors.
Risks and controls would also be another segment to the teaching to understand why we need to protect our finances from risks such as theft and fraud.
Budgets and Forecasting, Stock Management and Audits are also other important areas to be covered later down the line.
As a chartered management accountant, I also have experience of more complex methods of understanding your financials, including mergers, acquisitions and valuations, Restating of Balance Sheet due to FX, share valuations, dividends, the list is endless and I am happy to tailor my time based on what you really want to get out of your sessions.
For each aspect of the lesson we will start with theory first, and terminology. Then we would work through a few examples together, followed by some examples on your own. And finally a question and answer session at the end.
If there are any tests you need to prepare for I am happy for you to submit any example tests to myself first to review and go through together.
All my teaching will be provided online remotely and I am flexible with my teaching hours.
I look forward to my first tutoring session with you!
Sarah
