As a Latin tutor, I bring a strong academic background and a genuine passion for the Latin language and its rich cultural context. With a have an honours BA in Classics from McGill University and an MPhil in Classics from Trinity College Dublin, I have an appreciation for the intricacies of Latin grammar and syntax, as well as for its historical significance and literary value.

During our 1-2 hour sessions, the first half is dedicated to fundamental aspects such as grammar points, morphology quizzes, and expanding vocabulary. This segment lays a robust foundation, essential for tackling the intricacies of the Latin language.

The second half of the session is an engaging exploration into the practical application of learned concepts. We delve into guided translations of both set and unseen texts, providing students with an opportunity to apply the grammar points covered earlier. This hands-on approach not only reinforces their understanding but also builds the confidence needed to navigate unseen Latin texts independently.

The lessons are aimed to align with GCSE, Leaving Certificate, and A Level specifications, with a focus intensifying as the exam date approaches. This approach ensures that students are well-prepared for the specific requirements of their examinations, covering essential content and refining their skills to excel in the assessments.
