Recent Engineering graduate with a year-long experience in teaching Science at a secondary school as a Science Academic Mentor. I have experience in teaching students from different SEND and backgrounds. Besides Science, I also teach Mathematics from primary school to GCSE level. Depending on the age and the subject, my lessons vary in the method I use, but I generally start by introducing a topic, going through the theory and adding some hinge questions in between to ensure students are understanding and keeping up with the explanations. I then continue with examples and questions related to the topic. At the end of each lesson, I ask them to give some sort of feedback on the topic (i.e. what they learned, what they found difficult) and alongside with their performance during the lesson, I can identify what topics we would need to reinforce and go over again. I tend to use different methods of teaching/learning to make lessons more dynamic and engaging.
