I adapt my format depending on my student's need. I structure my lesson in three parts.
First 20min, Basic conversation, with me correcting your mistakes (this is great to up students's confidence when speaking a foreign language).
Next 20min, Focus on a particular grammar rule, either something student is struggling with or a repeated mistake from the student's oral exercice noticed by myself. (this helps the student understand the mistakes they are making).
Last 20min, Focus on conjugation, as French has a lot of tenses. Focus on various rules when conjugating verbs in French. Again focus on mistakes the student has made previously.
This structure can adapt depending on student's needs and ambitions.
