I speak mathematics. I love talking and expressing everyday scenarios in mathematics. I have had the opportunity to study mathematics as a cognate subject in my undergraduate. Aside that, I have always had a knack for mathematics from my primary school days. I wanted to break the wrong concept that many young students have about mathematics which makes them shy away from it even till higher institution. Mathematics is fun and it could be made so even to the ones that find it difficult.
I believe everyone has the right to understand mathematics at their level. I said 'the right' because mathematics is at the bedrock of every good education. A solid grab of the subject at early age will help prevent unnecessary fear for the subject later in life, and thereby gives you the confidence to make the right career choice.
My approach to teach is pragmatic. I always follow practice with every abstract concept to give the student a handle on exactly what the theory is all about and how to apply it to real life.
Every student of mine is equipped with the right machination to approach any mathematical problem; guided with well defined steps that they can follow to solve any problem and arrive at its solution.
I also ensure I build the students frame of mind towards viewing a mathematical problem as a puzzle to be solved, presenting it as a game rather than a mere juxtaposition of numbers and alphabets staring right back at them.
At then end of the day, my students learn and personally know mathematics as they would a friend they are well acquainted with.
