I have over two year’s experience in tutoring Chemistry at ages up to A Level, and have achieved 8 at GCSE, and A* at A Level. Having recently completed my exams, I take an approach to my lessons that incorporates revision methods I found useful, going through exam technique, as well as content based learning to ensure my students are confident with every aspect, and can reach their full potential. I will usually go through content and examples first, then move onto more independent learning, where I will go through a series of questions to give my students an opportunity to put their learning into practice, and are able to explain their reasoning too as this is just as important in maths, giving tips and tricks along the way to ensure they are using the most efficient methods. From my own experience in school, as well as from my tutoring experience, I’ve found that incorporating this independent practice of exam style questions is the best method to see improvement, as after all, practice makes perfect! I take time with my students to pinpoint how they like to learn best, whether this is more visual-based learning, or watching me do questions and explain them as I go, and adapt my teaching methods as I go, trialling different methods to see which ones they enjoy best to ensure my lessons are as bespoke and tailored to each of my students as possible, which in turn, will help my students reach their goals!
