I am a graduate with a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Leicester and I have been tutoring GCSE Maths and Science since 2018. I am a fun, friendly tutor that utilises online resources to the fullest extent, along with my proficient knowledge of many maths and science topics.
I like going through past papers from exam board websites as working through problems and finding solutions is the best way to create the necessary neural pathways that allow you to remember methods and information in exams.
I pride myself in my method of teaching, which encourages independent development through allowing students to attempt problems themselves. I give hints and words of advice where necessary to allow students to come to answers and conclusions by themselves. Only as a last resort, once all other options have been exhausted is when I may give the direct answer, however I will attempt to aid the student as much as possible to arrive at the answer on their own.
Many students have said that they enjoy my tuition sessions as I am friendly and easy to talk to. I also share a lot of common interest with young people as I have had multiple jobs looking after or teaching them.
You can talk to me about almost anything and everything, not just the lesson itself and many students have done so, as they see me as more of a friend than a tutor/teacher.
I hope to make a difference and improve the grades of many of bright, young students.
