Samantha Bishop

I like to base my lessons on what you require from me. I will begin each lesson by evaluating your level of understanding before moving on to focussed tutoring. I am confident with all topics taught at GCSE and A-level, with my personal expertise lying with environmental science. I will personalise my teaching style to the student and take things at a pace that I believe will most benefit the student. I have the science background to delve deep into topics a student might find difficult and can adapt my teaching to various learning styles.

I have an A* GCSE in biology, with other high level GCSE and ALevel qualifications. I have a research based masters degree and a 1st class degree (hons) in Marine Biology from Newcastle University. I have experience teaching undergraduate students and supervising dissertations from beginning to submission. Within my roles at Newcastle University I had experience tutoring students one-to-one and teaching full courses of students. I have marked work and ensured assignments are completed to a high standard. have taught students with varying backgrounds of science education and have assisted them in achieving success in their studies.

I believe in building a connection with students to help bring out the best in themselves. I am approachable and empathetic which regularly helps students reach their goals. I am passionate about science education and would love to assist students in not only achieving qualifications at school but also developing confidence in their own abilities.
