I have an extensive background in leadership in the banking industry. As a branch manager I regularly coached, mentored and trained my staff. As a qualifed freelance coach I regularly work with my clients to empower them to believe in themselves and gain the skills to become authentic effective leaders.
I have designed and delivered an online 12 week leadership program, this was met with amazing feedback and one lady quoted it was 'life changing'.
I have taught face to face and online to first year undergraduates at Leeds Beckett University in Psychosociology. I use participatory learning pedpagogy and believe in working with my students to find their unique learning styles and how best to engage them. I have had some amazing feedback from my students who cited they particularly enjoyed my teaching style and felt engaged throughout.
I do not believe in talking at you, I use slides sometimes, mainly as a checklist for us both and some visual aid. However, I believe especially in Sociology discussion and learning from each other is where the best learning happens. There is no definitive way to understand sociology, we are very complex as humans. There are many theories to consider, however understanding and sharing each others real world experience is essential in Sociology.
