My name is Sal and I am thrilled to meet you all.
English literature and English language are my passion. Also, I know some British Sign language (BSL) and Makaton because of my day job as a special needs learning assistant. I aim to help you with the things you’re currently struggling with and expand your reading skills so that you can find books that you love.
I am familiar with the OCR, Edexcel and AQA boards. I use a variety of teaching resources and materials. I cover ages 4 to 16. I believe as a teacher you are a guide to your student, but before that you need to build trust, to really get to know them as an individual. I’ll learn what they struggle with, what they love and even take the time to find out their best learning methods. I offer a warm up session that includes a short quiz about the ways different brains learn. Each lesson is a vital learning point for the students, which is why it should be relaxed, fun and well educated so the children may do the best to their ability. I do my best to provide in-depth lessons as I create and tailor these lessons with the students' needs. As I have experience with alternative learning and curriculum for SEN, I can also adapt my lessons to suit an individual’s needs.
