I have tutored people in my community preparing them for their GCSEs in both maths and physics. I myself achieved a 9 in maths and 8 in physics, and pushing other students to reach the same level. As a student myself I also know what works in terms of preparing for exams especially GCSEs. I do tend to push students to learn but within good measure so that they still want to learn. I teach the content by putting them directly onto exam questions topic-by-topic, this ensures they get used to questions that get asked in exams and how to use the right terminology and chronology when answering. I do set homework so that whatever progress made in the lesson can be solidified and students would feel more secure in their knowledge so that we can move on to the next topic. And if students don’t feel comfortable with a topic we do go over it again and spend more time on it until they’re ready. A lot of resources that I use will be available online for students. The dynamic of my lessons will be that me and the student will be able to relate being and have a more comfortable learning environment trying to eliminate tension so that the student can progress in their studies more.
