I am an ACA trainee with a Big 4 firm in central London. I tutor A-level and degree level students in Accounting, particularly specialising in Financial and Management accounting, along with various tax modules. I aim to tailor my teaching methods to each individual student, for which the first lesson will be used to discover. I teach key accounting concepts using simple, effective and memorable methods whilst using real life practical examples to help ensure that my students understand the technical content. Once past the technical content, in my experience, the exam technique can be the hardest part to conquer. With my training and studying with a Big 4 firm, I illustrate to my students the best methods in which to tackle several question types and how to adapt methods to suit each exam paper. I have found that practicing exam technique is the best way to pass the exams with a high grade. My teaching (once the technical content has been sufficiently covered) is therefore focused towards this. Ensuring that you are able to ascertain the easy and medium marks on each question is the best way to ensure a good grade on any accounting exam, and I aim to show the students how best to pick up these marks. I show enthusiasm, happy to continually go over content until a student definitively understands the content and set (and subsequently mark) homework for each student.
