I will always start off by figuring out the ability of my student. I will ask them what they believe their strengths and weaknesses are as well as testing to ensure I don’t miss and weak areas. My lessons are aimed to suit what my student thinks works best for them. For Maths especially, exposure is key so I will mainly be pushing for practice questions and walk through examples. For GCSE students close to exams, I would not focus of learning new content instead I would recommend building on what they already know by doing multiple mock papers which I will do along side them. I plan to give my students very minimal homework if I believe that in our lesson they hadn’t fully grasped the idea and it would be better for some extra practice.

As for my experience, I have always had a very strong understanding of Maths and achieved high grades in the subjects. I have a grade 9 in GCSE Maths. I am currently working at an A in A Level Maths and I am one of few in my school to be predicted an A*.
