As a tutor, I take time to ask about and observe your learning style. For example, I learn new concepts best by using mnemonic devices (tools that relate the new concept to something that's easier to remember – rhymes, acronyms, association, visualization, and more). I love to teach mnemonic devices to students because it makes learning and even teaching yourself new information easier. I would love to work with you and set some goals we can reach as a team.

My areas of speciality reside in teaching Psychological vocabulary, skills for APA academic writing, and comprehension of those confusing cognitive processes like how neuronal synapse work and what ion channels are actually doing. I also tutor in Anthropology, English and Literature.

A private lesson with me looks like initially talking about the way you learn best and your learning goals. If you don't know your learning style or have trouble setting goals for yourself, that's a-okay! I can help you discover your learning style as well as help you find what your learning or career goals may be.

After discussing your learning style, we can use that to start tackling concepts that may be difficult to retain or just aren't clicking. I would be happy to share my own study tips and tricks with you.

My goal is to help you create learning habits you can apply in school as well as life in general. Humans didn't learn the things we know today by working alone. Let's go together!
