For science and maths, my lessons involve going through worked examples together first, before attempting exam questions and mark schemes. I use online resources as well as exam board specific textbook questions to aid students' learning.
For GCSE English lessons, I always make sure to do a lesson on structuring essays, essay planning and creative writing with students. I use an online whiteboard for all subjects. I use textbook resources, videos and online exam questions, alongside exemplar work from my previous students who have achieved high grades. I am familiar with all texts students are required to study in the UK GCSE English curriculum.
I make an effort to welcome all my students to ensure they feel comfortable voicing any concerns over their work. My first lesson with students involves doing a diagnostic test to see which level they are working at, followed by a discussion on their revision methods and their current grade and target grade. I write feedback reports for all my students after every lesson for both the student and their parent/guardian or teacher to keep track of their progress.
