I have a Master's degree in Biochemistry so I am happy to teach science subjects with a focus on Biology and Chemistry (though for younger ages I can support in general science topics too). In the past I have acted as a mentor to younger students with their science and Spanish GCSEs in non-tutoring roles.
I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of students to achieve their goals. I have experience working with and supporting people with additional needs (as an assistant Project Worker) in non-tutoring environments, and I am neurodivergent myself, so I am happy to try to tailor each lesson to the individual I am working with. I think it is important to recognise that different students have individual needs (not "one size fits all"). If I can work out the areas of difficulty for each student, then we can build on lessons from there.
I am new to the tutoring world, so I am willing to take on constructive feedback to enable us to work best together so that students can reach successful outcomes. Depending on the subject, my teaching style includes explaining topics in manageable chunks and testing knowledge through discussion and going through example questions together. I am more than happy to adapt this to suit the environment. Lessons are most likely to be conducted on Microsoft Teams.
I also achieved an A grade in A-level Spanish, so I have an appreciation for languages and I have a good conversational level where I am used to interacting with my international Spanish and Latin friends in Spanish. I would like to help support students in their language learning through teaching English as a foreign language.
