The goal is to ensure every student achieves a high level of understanding and confidence when tackling mathematic problems. This will allow students to use and identify which skills are necessary to use in a range of questions. I focus on students’ weaknesses as this tends to be the reason for lower grades. Every student has a different work ethic and style of working and so it is important to adapt to their needs and approach each student from a different angle. I also can change my teaching methods or style and take on board any criticism. At the end of the day my only wish is to make learning easy. Maths doesn’t have to be scary and overwhelming.
Getting to know my students is something I really emphasise too. My students need to feel comfortable and honest in their understanding.
