I like to base my lesson plans on students individual needs wherever possible, so in the first session I like to hear about the students motivations, learning styles and goals. I then plan a basic curriculum with the student/s to give them an idea of topics that will be taught each week.
For lessons, my forte is grammar and conversation. I use the PPP model to structure my lessons. For Japanese, I train students for competency exams as well. The lessons will be online, and will use audio-visual aids wherever applicable. Lessons will be interactive, with a lot of speaking practice, grammar deduction exercises and games wherever possible. Learning goals will also include understanding the unique culture and how it affects the language, e.g., levels of politeness and the social hierarchy etc.
