I am a first year student studying medicine at the University of Nottingham, with an awarded international baccalaureate grade of 41 points and a grade 7 in biology higher level. I also achieved three grade 9s in GCSE biology, chemistry and physics. I aim to teach GCSE and IB biology, both standard and higher level, along with KS3 science with online classes ranging from 45 minutes to an hour. I have experience tutoring KS3 science during my time at sixth form as part of a mentoring scheme along with tutoring IB biology during the summer before starting university, helping two students to achieve a grade 7 in the international baccalaureate. I believe in very hands on and applied learning, therefore my lessons would initially involve thorough discussions and examples on both basic and complex topics of study, then many practice questions with feedback to ensure a sufficient understanding. I would encourage my students to come to our lessons with specific questions to ensure the lesson is catered to what they are struggling with the most in each topic area. I am a positive and encouraging teacher who has had a passion for biology and science since attending school myself and continue to have at university and am eager to share this passion for learning with more students.

I have a passion for my degree which stemmed from my love for biology and the sciences whilst in school. I am eager to share this passion with other students, helping them to achieve their dream grades, whilst also acknowledging how difficult some biology and science topics can be to initially understand. I am a very encouraging and patient tutor, who welcomes students of any ability and am always ready to tackle any questions and worries that a student may have about any topic on the syllabus. I have an active approach to learning, where I believe discussing the topics in great depth with multiple practice questions and examples with feedback is the best way to gain a better understanding and boost confidence in the subject. I am always open to trying different ways of learning to make the student more comfortable and confident in their own learning.
