First a little bit about me. I first learnt the guitar when I left primary schools and started taking lessons myself all the way through high school. By learning the guitar it allowed me to explore other different instruments such as piano, bass, and drums. This sparked my love for music and currently I am furthering this through my bachelors degree in music and music production in university that I am currently undergoing.
On your first lessons, we will firstly get to know each other and it will be a great opportunity for me to find out more about your goals with the guitar. From there we will go over basic parts of the guitar, maintenance of the guitar and different types. Throughout my lessons we will look at the fundamentals of guitar such as chords, scales, strumming and picking etc. From here we will advance onto more intermediate skills. In our lessons we will have chances to explore different styles of music as well as your favourite styles and favourite songs. All of this will be taught in a fun engaging way.
My students will have opportunities in lessons be able to play along to songs they enjoy with another person. This gives my students more confidence for the future when they could potentially play in an ensemble or with other people. I will also try to encourage exploration of different styles of music and performance that may not be as popular as others such as blues or country. This will open the minds of my students and allow them to be more fluent through different styles and make them more flexible when playing.
