I am generally quite relaxed with my teaching style and I try to adapt my delivery of content to the individual student. In the past, this has ranged from traditional PowerPoint delivery like would be seen in school, to specific exam question work, making revision resources, and even using quizzes and games to reinforce, and explain content.
I am currently studying at university, and I have been tutoring informally for the better part of 4 years. I am very familiar with the GCSE content, and exam structure as I regularly revisit it with people I tutor. I have always loved science, and I am studying to become a teacher in the next few years, and so tutoring has been, and will continue to be, something I really enjoy.
My goal is to ensure that each student is thoroughly understanding each topic that I present to them, regardless of the time that it takes. I understand the importance of a strong foundation of knowledge in order to access high grades, and I will use every resource at my disposal to make that happen.
In general, I rely on PowerPoints that I have specifically constructed in accordance with the exam specification. I try to include a mix of diagrams and information to explain difficult concepts. Additionally, I have an exam question bank, and numerous revision resources that I have made myself that I would be happy to share with any students. Students will also be given access to any PowerPoint slides that I have used to teach them for their own independent revision, and will all have opportunities to ask questions throughout the sessions to solidify their own learning.
