I taught art online during COVID so became experienced at engaging multiple students in practical lessons. I held classes online for the British arts council , for a children art school and gave private students lessons. I use videos, slideshow presentations from art history to talk about the history of art and to discuss the methods used by artists to produce their work. I use images of practical art from my studio and give live practical demonstrations of art techniques. I use two cameras and make sure my lessons are lively engaging and informative Giving in depth feedback to students on their work in a group setting. Using art history as a reference to discuss technique and to supply information on how artists have worked through history. An example of a lesson in perspective is where I would show a number of slides of art demonstrating how an artist has used perspective highlighting how the various elements in the painting have been used to give the illusion of depth on a one dimensional surface. Then I would use a live demonstration to make a painting which had elements of ariel perspective and one point perspective to produce a convincing painting that had depth and be able to make sure students understand the method and techniques I had used by asking each student in tern to show their work to myself and the other students. I give encouraging constructive feedback. I’m experienced in all painting media and can teach on many different art meterlas and media.
