I like to give a little assessment to the student that contains different areas of maths. Then from there I can see what areas they are struggling in which is when I start teaching them the concept using exam questions. Then I normally set homework which I ask them to bring to the next session so that we can go through any errors together. I like to use exam questions because they prepare the student more for the real exam so they don’t get frightened. I am a very patient person who understands that maths is very difficult at times but I believe that if I show empathy for the student and try to motivate to keep trying consistently, they will excel in maths.

I have done this previously and it worked very well so I hope to do this again.
