I will work at the student's pace, and only encourage taking of exams if the student wants to do that. I believe that it's more important to enjoy music, and exploring the range of music that exists, than pushing ahead with exams.
I am familiar with many genres of music, not just classical, but ragtime, jazz, country, and modern. I also particularly like duet music.
