Having taught for many years in a variety of schools I am well suited to a wide variety of teaching methods and strategies.
As a former Head of Maths at several schools in the North of the UK and have extensive experience teaching at KS2, KS3 maths and tutoring KS2,3 AND 4 maths.
As a tutor, I have also had many successes in bringing pupil's grades on rapidly - be that last minute polishing of technique and exam practice close to final exams or as regular sessions throughout the year to build confidence and competence.
I have extensive knowledge of the content of all the exam boards being used in the UK so will be able to cater lessons appropriately.
My lessons are always catered to the needs of the student. Online or face to face I have amassed a wide variety of resources that will enable you to succeed.
To start your journey, please let me know your exam board and tier. This helps me prepare the relevant material for your lessons. An initial session would be spent discussion as to which topics you are comfortable with, what you would like to go over and what you have not been taught in school. In suitable cases, I will cover topics ahead of school to give you a head start.
When studying Maths, I believe the most important thing is understanding why each step is required to reach the answer. This can take time, and a patient and flexible teaching approach is needed to find a method that works for each student, which I am committed to providing in my sessions. Practice questions help to consolidate understanding, and answering exam-style questions is an excellent way to prepare for problems that are likely to come up on the exam.
