In my lessons, I focus on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student feels comfortable and confident in their abilities. Each session is structured to suit the individual needs of my students, starting with a quick review of previous topics to reinforce understanding. I then introduce new concepts in a clear and accessible way, using visual aids, real-life examples, and interactive activities to make learning more relatable. I encourage questions and discussions throughout the lesson, ensuring that students fully grasp each concept before moving on. To keep lessons engaging, I incorporate games, puzzles, and problem-solving tasks that make maths enjoyable and less intimidating. My approach is flexible, meaning I adapt my teaching style based on how each student learns best, whether that’s through step-by-step explanations, hands-on practice, or visual demonstrations. I also provide plenty of encouragement and positive reinforcement to help build confidence and motivation. By the end of each lesson, my students not only improve their skills but also develop a more positive attitude towards maths.
I have had experience in working in a tuition centre for the last year and a half with a class of year and 7 students in which I gained a better understanding of the curriculum and how my students learn. With my experience, I have been able to foster an advanced understanding of the importance of having an inclusive classroom and to have a range of teaching methods in order to help each student learn the content.
