I am deeply enthusiastic about fostering creativity, engaging and inspiring students, and challenging them to discover their creative potential. As a practicing artist, I would like to share and teach fine art techniques of painting, printmaking, and mixed media, and reclaim certain obsolete practices like gum tempera and linoprint while encouraging students to find their voice and purpose through art.
I have been teaching from a young age, instilling in my students admiration and appreciation of nature and life through art.
I have been a full-time art teacher at a renowned school in India before pursuing a Master degree in Fine Art in the UK.
Alongside this full-time role, I worked part time as art teacher with Ministry of Art- an online organisation providing art lessons to international students. I also dedicated time to my own art practice and organised and hosted a solo art show in India in 2023.
As for the lessons, it is important for me to understand the preferences and creative goals of my student. I would help them develop ideas and experiment with their preferred mediums but encourage them to try new techniques, mediums and processes.
I think it is essential to develop a rapport with students so that they are comfortable in expressing themselves through their art. I use art as a cathartic outlet, and a means to feel empowered and accomplished. For me it is very important that my students enjoy the journey of the creative process as much as the final art piece and I would love to see what they can create with my support.
