I am a global citizen and an experienced and qualified language and literature teacher who has been living and working in China, Japan, the UK, South Korea and Hong Kong.
I hold a Bacholor degree in Education and a Master degree in Applied Linguistics, specializing in Language Teaching and Language Studies from Lancaster University, UK. My MA research focused on Second Language Acquisition from a Language Teaching and Sociolinguistics perspective, with a specific emphasis on valuing the students' backgrounds, languages, cultures, and traditions. This has shaped my approach to teaching, promoting inclusivity and cultural understanding.
Throughout my career, I have remained at the forefront of innovative teaching methodologies and pedagogies. I have successfully led and taught Chinese in a diverse range of locales from the UK, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, to China; with exceptionally long terms of teaching experience in the university, top independent schools in the UK and international schools overseas. This experience has provided me with a deep understanding of various educational systems and curricula. I have successfully taught Chinese from IGCSE, MYP, and IB Diploma to the UK national curriculum such as GCSE and A-levels as well as Australian curricular. Additionally I am an active examiner for Chinese IB BH and IGCSE. I am able to foster a delight in the subject and ensure the highest possible academic standards for all students. Besides, i am also experienced in teaching private students of all levels and training employees business Chinese in Toshiba and Nissan companies in Japan.
