My lessons focus on 4 key areas to ensure comprehensive understanding and academic success:

1. MASTERING COMPLEX CONCEPTS: Guiding students through the most complex areas of learning, ensuring they grasp this material thoroughly. This enables them to confidently tackle even the toughest exam questions.

2. ADDRESSING INDIVIDUAL QUERIES: I expect the student to come to the sessions with possible questions - whether it's something their teacher or the textbook did not explain particularly well. From this I can provide clear, detailed explanations to help them overcome these obstacles and fully understand the subject matter.

3. EXAM TIPS & STRATEGIES: I have seen even the most knowledgeable students lose marks because they do not answer questions properly, lack key time management skills, have poor essay writing techniques, or misunderstand what the exam questions are really asking. Therefore together with the student, I will address these possible pitfalls in their learning, providing key advice in not only these aspects but also common questions such as how to revise, how to take effective notes, and will develop an effective revision and learning plan tailored to the students needs. This will ensure they feel fully prepared and capable of excelling in their final exams.

4. INDEPENDENT WORK: I assign small, manageable chunks of independent work to further develop and consolidate the knowledge gained during our sessions. This helps reinforce learning and build confidence in applying new concepts.

I didn't achieve the best grades in my first year of university studying Natural Sciences, so was introduced to Rueben by a mutual friend. He agreed to give me a few sessions on how to revise and perform well in university exams and essays and it was very insightful. He is a very positive person and encouraged me to achieve better grades in the coming years. Overall would definitely recommend!

My son's experience being tutored by Rueben was very positive, he helped my son with math problems he was struggling at in school, and gave him further practice questions to develop his knowledge. He also communicated with me to give progress on how my son was progressing. This helped my son get into the higher maths sets at his school.

This is a reference regarding Rueben's role as a Student Facilitator at university, where after receiving training was qualified to run sessions for undergraduate students helping them integrate into a new city and be more confident in their studies. Rueben successfully ran the sessions, leading groups of up to 20 students. He positively connected with the students, giving them advice on academic and personal worries for new university students, answering any questions that the students had effectively. Overall I am very impressed with Rueben's ability to lead groups of students and his adaptability to any barriers that he faced.
