Hello, I'm Ruby. As a tutor, I am aware that everyone has different learning techniques when it comes to language learning. That is why every lesson is personalised to each individual student. The format of my lessons would consist primarily of grammar, as this is what we use to actually learn the bare bones of a language. This would also be accompanied by learning a bit about the Spanish and Latin American culture, as knowledge of the country/countries comes hand in hand with the language! The lessons would be conducted in a casual manner, and the dynamic would be relaxed and friendly with questions encouraged if something is not understood. The lesson would also go as slow as the learner wished, sometimes covering a certain topic in multiple lessons as I understand it is difficult to understand a new concept in one sitting. I am currently studying a degree in French and Spanish (BA Modern Languages) at the University of Bristol, and I have also completed my GCSEs and A-Levels, both of which I took Spanish as a subject. I have spent time in Barcelona, being able to learn about the Catalan culture. Furthermore, I have partaken in an exchange programme, in which I lived with a Spanish household and went to a Modern Languages school. This has allowed me to further my knowledge of spoken Spanish, and how this can differ to taught Spanish. This would be taught in my lessons as the learner progresses, so they would eventually be able to speak with a native fluency.
