I have a lot of experience of teaching, and I've seen students progress quickly from beginner to a good ability to communicate in English. The most important factor is the student's motivation. If you really want to learn you will. The second most important factor is that a student finds a way of learning that is enjoyable and relaxed for them. There are many methods of learning and you have to find the way that you feel comfortable with. Only when you enjoy a method of learning can you spend a lot of hours practising. (Of course some students may find a combination of methods is good for them to learn.)

I can offer students conversation practice. There will be a little bit of grammar correction and pronunciation correction when I feel it's necessary to maintain communication. But essentially in my class you will be practising conversation. Like a real conversation, topics may change. Unlike a real conversation I will control the level of vocabulary used so that you understand everything. If you don't understand something you can stop the conversation and ask me to explain a difficult word or phrase and I will give you examples. I am a patient person/teacher and I will not get irritable even if you need me to explain many words.

I have a long list of conversation topics and you can choose one from the list (which I will show you on the screen) and then we can talk about the topic. I read out questions and you answer. Then you read out the questions (from the screen) and I answer. When you become bored of a topic you tell me and then you choose another topic. You can change the topic as many times as you want.

We can also talk about any topics you suggest, including your hobbies and interests, your job, the news and current events in any country. We can talk about any topic you can think of.
