Rowan Helliwell

I am a guitar teacher who specialises in teaching beginners the basics of music theory and guitar technique.

In my lessons you will take your first steps in becoming an accomplished and skilled guitarist with lessons on the best technique for ease of playing, theory so you understand what you're playing and be able to replicate it in your own music, and learning fun songs that help you apply what you've learned.

I have been playing guitar for almost 6 years now and I have a very strong grasp on the basics of music theory such as beginner scales and chords, as well as some more intermediate things like modes and advanced composition. In the last 3 years I have played with a range of different musicians of different backgrounds in rock, jazz, and blues and this has given me key experience in playing with others as well as improvising in a group setting.

My lessons are either online or in person depending on whatever is easiest for you and how far you're able to travel, as I am based in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire.

You are expected to bring your own instrument to lessons, but for students first starting out, I have a wide range of instruments they can use until they purchase their own.
