Hi!!
I'm Rosy, I'm 20, and I'm currently studying at the University of Oxford.
I teach in a relaxed way - I believe students learn best in a low pressure environment where trying things out and making mistakes is encouraged as part of the learning process. I generally work through concepts with students first - and will generally begin lessons with an overview of the topic we have decided to focus on that week. This gives students an opportunity to ask questions, and we will try to work out what parts of the topic they are struggling with and why. Then I look to apply the learning to exam-style questions, which we will work through together, combining the theoretical knowledge acquired in the first half of the session with exam-technique and top tips for tackling tricky topics in exams.
I am very receptive to changing the teaching style to fit the student, and can cater sessions to their specific standards and needs.
I have been tutoring KS3/GCSE physics for about 3 years - and have worked with students who needed many different types of help, from students who wanted to boost their 7s to 9s to students who just desperately wanted a 4 so they could never look at physics ever again. I value both types equally, and will never judge a student on what type of help they need! I just want to help each student reach their potential, and am receptive to be guided by students as to the areas and type of study that will be the most useful for them.
