In my maths lessons, I create a comfortable, engaging environment where students feel confident to ask questions and explore challenging concepts. Each lesson is tailored to meet individual needs, ensuring we focus on specific topics that support current coursework or address any areas where students feel less confident.
My lessons follow a structured format, starting with a quick review of past material to reinforce understanding before moving on to new topics. I love including fast-paced races to see how quickly students can solve problems, making learning both fun and competitive. For variety, I also bring in word problems featuring beloved kid characters and famous celebrities, which makes the concepts relatable and keeps students excited about maths.
With six years of teaching experience, I understand that every student learns differently. I make adjustments as needed, whether by breaking down concepts further, offering alternative explanations, or using visual aids to clarify ideas. My goal is for each student to leave lessons with a clearer understanding and the confidence to tackle new challenges independently.
In my online classroom, I use interactive tools, from digital whiteboards to visual aids and problem sets, to make sessions engaging. Ultimately, my aim is to develop each student’s confidence and capability in maths, so they feel well-prepared for assessments and real-world applications.
