My lessons are usually very interactive, while some time will be spent focusing on answering questions and reviewing answers, I ensure there is a balance to the lesson so the student remains engaged. A key part of tutoring is to make the learning fun so we can reinforce what is being taught in schools.
I like to use a mix of quizzes as well as visual approaches to learning like drawing diagrams and using pictures of processes and real world locations to make geographical principles more relatable. I also ensure to tailor my teaching style to match the strengths of the student.
I like my students to guide some of the lessons so if there is a topic they are particularly interested in I can help them explore it further. This gives them additional freedom outside the classroom and the opportunity to adapt their learning to their interests. I also spend time concentrating on challenging topics to build on existing knowledge as well as addressing specific objectives that a student my have.
I prefer working on a one-to-one basis so that each student gets the maximum attention possible, however if there are multiple students requiring the same tutoring then I can run classes of up to 3 students at a time.
