In my second year of studying Spanish and Italian at Durham University, I hope I will be able to inspire more people to love languages like me.
The layout of my lessons will depend on the age and experience of the student. Once the aims and goals of the lessons are set, I will provide various exercises for the students to practice with me; the further focus of the lessons will depend on the how the exercises go and what the areas of improvement are for the student. As Spanish is a language where each person will have different areas for improvement or areas of interest, the work we will do will be flexible; from written grammar exercises to oral practice, the contents of the classes will vary for each student and each lesson, in order to provide a specialised yet complete education of the Spanish language.
Having spent nine years of my life learning Spanish through secondary school, sixth form, University and through living in Spain itself, I feel I can provide a well-informed and specially adapted lesson for prospective students due to the experience I have had, both through being taught and also through learning by myself. My own participation and involvement in a range of teaching techniques through school at all levels of my education in Spanish, combined with my experience of teaching and coaching in other fields such as horse riding and rowing, have set me up well to provide an effective teaching method myself. Due to both my observation and implementation of various teaching techniques, I feel i will be able to provide a knowledgeable service based on understanding and experience.
