As a teacher, it’s my job to support my students through the lessons I give, but also through the various challenges they may face at school, and to partner with them as well as other support systems to help them feel motivated, comfortable, and happy in the classroom.
I have flexibility, compassion, self-discipline, drive and patience to reach my students.
My teaching philosophy is to make my lesson plans relatable. In many cases, when a student can’t identify with the material, it’s harder for them to gather meaning. As a Russian teacher, my goal is to help students empathize with characters, places and concepts, especially when those things are different from their own life experiences. As a teacher, I find grammar rules more memorable when I help my students draw parallels. As a former English teacher, I like to make comparisons between English and Russian. This helps my students understand the language and improve their skills.
