My name is Rosa Bustamante.
I am a qualified Spanish teacher by the UNED with Official Master’s Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary School and Baccalaureate Programmes, Career Education and Language Teaching; and a DELE examiner accredited by the Instituto Cervantes.
Teaching is my passion. Giving support and accompanying students to achieve their goals in my language is a true privilege. In short, when they achieve their goal, whether it is an exam, an interview or simply acquiring more fluency in Spanish, we share in the success of the commitment. It is the best reward I can have.
I teach Spanish, both academically and professionally. I also teach classes on literature gatherings of Spanish and Latin American authors.
Being an accredited examiner by the Instituto Cervantes for the official DELE exams (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) is a plus in the development of my classes with objectives aimed at obtaining excellent results in the tests. After years as a teacher in different countries, I also prepare other Spanish exams according to the educational curriculum of the British GCSEs and A Level, the French Baccalaureate, the International Baccalaureate Diploma, as well as other entrance exams to universities where Spanish is a Indispensable condition.
Likewise, I prepare the CCSE exam (constitutional and sociocultural knowledge of Spain) prepared by the Cervantes Institute, which is one of the requirements established for the acquisition of nationality for residents in Spain.
However, if what students are looking for is to get closer to our wonderful language with the idea of enjoying themselves, without a doubt in my classes they will find the perfect place to discover the ins and outs of understanding the beauty of this language.
Finally, if the objective is a Spanish to be projected in a professional environment, the sessions will be adapted to that environment, guaranteeing the success of the interview or work meeting.
In my classes we work on all four skills.
I always speak in Spanish and if something is not understood I try to explain it with other words. I only use English or French if it is something very specific but I immediately return to Spanish. I consider that the use of vehicular language is very important for the student. The more the ear is trained, the better.
Likewise, we work on the conversation from the beginning with topics of interest but with the treatment of key aspects of grammar that is done in an applied way with a multitude of practical exercises facilitating its follow-up.
We also dedicate time to reading comprehension since we read presentations in the form of slides where aspects of the culture, gastronomy and history of Spain are narrated to achieve student participation.
Finally, the written skill is worked on by the student individually once the class is over. However, he or she can send me their work before the next session. From the first moment, the students have my support and can send me messages to resolve any questions that arise after class.
At the end of each session I share with the student the material that we have used so that they can continue reviewing it.
I think it's best to book a trial to see all these aspects put into practice. In the meantime you can see my students´reviews in my Preply profile.
