I am a hands-on tutor who firmly believes that practice will indeed make perfect! My lesson plans will typically start with an introductory presentation or demonstration of the key principles of that lesson, be that an introduction to moles calculations in chemistry, or starting to solve more advanced differential equations in maths! Each lesson will be tailored to the students and the level they wish to be performing at.
The second part to all sessions will always involve questions and examples! I would firstly walk through some examples of practice or exam questions with students and then let them to the leading with follow up questions. Homework or follow up questions would ideally be completed between lessons and from there I can devise the best lesson plan moving forward.
My tutoring style represents the needs of the student(s), and I am comfortable working with individuals or with larger groups. My experience includes:
- A Level Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry with students aiming to achieve A* grades for entry into Oxbridge universities.
- GCSE Maths to an individual student looking to achieve a strong pass (5).
- GCSE Physics and Chemistry for a class of students looking to achieve A/A* grades and progress into A Level courses.
This tutoring experience includes both online and in person classes and so I am more than capable of tutoring to a high standard using a range of software.
I have been tutoring over a range of years and across multiple exam boards. This in combination with me having recently concluded my own studies results in a good knowledge of all exam formats.
