Without liking your subject you’ll procrastinate, have a lower confidence in your ability during the exam and ultimately not achieve the grade you have been working towards over the +2 years.

Yes the things they’re talking about are interesting, but it is key to focus on material that you will be assessed on.
Even if you display high levels of knowledge and understanding in your answer, unless that point is in the mark scheme, it will not get you any marks and will therefore be a waste of your precious time.
I will focus on the specification published by the exam board so you can be sure that anything you learn will be relevant to you.
