With over nine years of experience teaching bilingually, as well as extensive travel and cultural experiences in Spain and Latin America, I am confident in my ability to help students reach their language-learning goals. My background in Spanish language instruction, coupled with my TEFL certification, makes me a highly qualified candidate for this position.

I have dedicated over three years to tutoring Spanish to students of various backgrounds since my graduation from the University of Groningen. My proficiency in both Spanish and English enables me to construct dynamic and tailored lessons geared toward language proficiency. It also allows me to fortify my students’ confidence in the language. Additionally, my extensive engagement with Spanish-speaking cultures enhances my capability of teaching the language in a manner that appeals to learners and connects them with the cultural aspects of the language.

Through my travels and immersion in Spain and Latin America, I have picked up significant nuances of the Spanish language and its regional variations. These experiences allow me to offer my students a more enriched and authentic learning experience while simultaneously promoting their cultural understanding.

I am skilled in translation, which has developed my language more and helped me support students in every aspect. Whether private or online lessons, I am committed to helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

Róisín has worked in my language school for the past 8 summers, teaching groups of French, German, Italian & Spanish teenagers. Her lesson planning is impeccable, her knowledge of grammar, syntax and colloquialisms rock solid, her ability to communicate clearly and with kindness and patience is very impressive. She is always very popular with the students and positive feedback from parents and teachers is a regular occurence. I can wholeheartedly recommend Róisín, both as a one-to-one tutor and for groups of students. Her humour, patience, and fastidious grammar is an ideal combination.

I came to Róisín for Spanish help in the year leading up to my final secondary school exams. I had been struggling with the language in school and failing all my tests, as well as finding the teacher's instruction difficult to engage with. I found that being able to have that one-to-one experience meant that all focus was on my work and not divided between a class of 20. Róisín was subtle, yet clearly very accurate, in her assessment of my level and began forming the lessons around making the foundations of my language stronger, instead of just drilling grammar facts into me. This continued until I was actually understanding the language and how it was used as opposed to just trying to recall vocab or grammar tenses that might work. She covered everything, from oral and listening to reading and writing. I ended up getting a H1 (the Irish equivalent of an A*) on my final exam. I was delighted with myself but I genuinely wouldn't have got it had it not been for Róisín's help.
