I am from Florianópolis in Brazil and have lived in the UK for 10 years!

I taught Portuguese for years at Cardiff University in the Modern Languages undergraduate programme and also designed and taught Portuguese lessons in the evening language programme at the university.

I also have 15 years teaching English as a foreign language in Brazil and in the UK, including at universities. Especially, I have extensive experience teaching Academic English to international students in UK universities.

My Portuguese lessons are fun and relaxed but can also be focused and nerdy if you want! I will help you develop your confidence, fluency, and pronunciation in spoken Portuguese and will expose you to a wealth of Lusophone culture. I have a huge range of materials and can tailor the lesson to your preferences, focusing more on conversation, grammar, writing, etc.

No worries if you're more interested in European Portuguese! You can also learn that from very professional reading and listening materials I can provide.

I can also teach you English if it's not your first language, with all the insights I have acquired from having learned English myself and teaching learners from a variety of backgrounds in the UK for several years.

I have a strong academic background and have published in the field of English Literature, including a book. I love languages, and have studied Polish, French, and Welsh. I was the first person ever to sit the UK citizenship test (necessary to become a UK citizen) in Welsh!
