Robin Whitehead

During my time as a private tutor, I successfully guided a student from a D grade to an A grade in IGCSE History. This experience not only honed my tutoring skills but also strengthened my ambition to become a History teacher after graduating from University.

My approach varies for each student as I use the initial lesson to assess my student's needs before developing a plan to reach their goal; utilising engaging teaching methods and techniques which have proved successful in my own IGCSE and A-Level studies, as well as with my previous students.

In addition to my tutoring experience, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant at Singapore International School in Hong Kong. This role provided me with valuable classroom experience and enhanced my ability to create positive learning environments. I am adept at managing diverse classroom dynamics and ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive. My time as a Summer School Teacher at Zebedee International Preschool and Nursery further developed my skills in lesson planning and adapting teaching strategies to cater to the individual needs of each student.

I also manage my own History education website and podcast, "History: From One Student to Another." This has not only deepened my passion for historical study, but has also enhanced my skills in digital communication and content creation, which I believe will be beneficial in an online tutoring setting.
