Tutoring is my passion. While working in a classroom environment as a substitute teacher, I continuously saw the same heartbreaking situation, in which a child needs extra help and there isn't any time to provide it, due to the amount of other children in the classroom.
I began tutoring professionally in 2009, for kids in under-served communities who accessed my tutoring as part of a free government initiative. Since then, I have worked both online and in-person, with both private clients and as an employee for tutoring franchises.
My primary areas of expertise are in K-12 Language Arts, and working with neurodivergent students, predominately children with ADD/ADHD, ODD and learners on the Autism Spectrum. I also support young learners in their math skills up to grade 5, as well as providing homework assistance in areas such as Social Studies and Spanish.
Interested in obtaining tutoring for your beloved learner? It all starts with an email or phone call where you explain what an ideal first session will entail. What skills will we be brushing up on or tackling here? Based on our conversation, I will create a 2-page individualized assessment for your learner to take and submit prior to our first lesson. The assessment will help in the targeted development of our sessions. If you request follow-up homework assignments, I will assign 2 pages of work, posted on Google Classroom, to be reviewed during the next session.
My resume provides more detail about my years of experience. I look forward to hearing from you with your questions!
